Adi Sankara Jayanti

Sri Adi Sankara is a saint, philosopher, poet, commentator, rejuvenator and social reformer, all ruled into one. Born in Kerala about two millennia ago, at the Melpazhur Mana, he grew up into a spiritual leader. His teachings were rooted in the Upanishadic thoughts. He was the pioneer who perpetuated the philosophy of Advaita Vedanta throughout the country and influenced the nation and the world so much so that India can be thought of as pre-Sankara and post-Sankara.

Adi Sankara Jayanti is the birth anniversary of Sri Sankaracharya, the great Guru and the proponent of Advaita philosophy. This year, Adi Sankara Jayanti falls on 28th April and the celebrations will include online competitions as well as a LIVE puja from the birth-room of Adi Sankara at Adi Sankara Nilayam, Ernakulam, Kerala, India. The puja will be followed by concluding blessing address by Pujya Swami Swaroopananda, the Global Head of Chinmaya Mission.
