Dear Devotee, Hari Om! Salutations! Lord Ayyappa is the family deity of Melpazhoor Mana, the maternal home and birthplace of Sri. Adi Sankara, the world renowned saint and Advaita philosopher.This place was renamed as Adi Sankara Nilayam by Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayanandaji and the Chinmaya International Foundation (CIF), the center for Sanskrit Research and Indology , is established in these sacred precincts.
Within the Adi Sankara Nilayam is the ancient Ayyappa Temple built in the Kerala style according to the principles of Vastushilpa. The idol of Ayyappa is unique and it is Swayambhu (self-born). The temple complex is blessed with other Devathas – Sri Ganapati, Sri Krishna, Sri Rama, Sri Vettakkorumakan, Naga Yakshi, Nagaraja and Naga Devatas and Bhagavati. CIF is committed to protecting and nourishing these temples with the devotional offerings of devotees.
