Mandalakala Puja 2024

Mandala Kalam, a 41-day period of spiritual austerities, holds profound significance for Ayyappa devotees, marking a time when devotees themself rejuvenate in alignment with Lord Ayyappa.

This year, Chinmaya Swayambhu Ayyappa Temple, will be hosting a special Mandala Puja. Throughout this sacred time, various pujas will be offered to Lord Ayyappa and all the deities within the temple. We wholeheartedly welcome devotees to participate by offering special pujas and immerse themselves in the divine atmosphere of devotion.

Chinmaya Swayambhu Ayyappa Temple is situated within the sacred Adi Sankara Nilayam, the maternal birthplace of Bhagavan Adi Sankaracharya. According to legend, it is believed that Lord Ayyappa Himself appeared at the sacred temple, inspiring the name ‘Swayambhu Ayyappa’. In this temple, the Lord is in the form of Sri Dharma Sastha, accompanied by Pushkala and Sathyaka, His consort and son respectively. The Temple Complex is also home to ancient shrines dedicated to Lord Sri Rama, Lord Sri Krishna, Lord Ganesha, Lord Vettakkorumakan (Kirata-Shiva), Goddess Nagayakshi and Bhagavati, and a shrine dedicated to Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda.
